We believe that lives, which are being transformed by the presence of Christ within, are the most powerful means to “proclaim the One who called them from darkness into His marvelous light” (1 Peter 2:9). Join us in what God is doing and experience His transforming presence in your life.

We acknowledge that God is the head of our organization and submit ourselves and all activities to His will, knowing He is always with us in everything we do. To this effect, TLAfrica, Inc. board members and staff will live a life that honors God – a life of purity and holiness.
Transformation-Our Ministry Philosophy
Our ministry is based on the premise that the renewal of our mind described in Romans 12:1-2 should be reflected in the way we live our day-to-day life, and the way we express our concern for the suffering, the afflicted, and the oppressed. We should therefore preach the Gospel holistically, that it might lead to spiritual, social and economic change.
Creativity and Innovation
We will constantly evaluate our methods and strategies, seeking relevant ideas to maximize the organization effectively in order to achieve our vision and objectives.
Pursuit of excellence
To ensure excellence in our programs and activities, we strive to attract talented, honest and committed men and women of God, to develop and mentor them as we serve together. We seek to put significant emphasis on meaningful programs that will benefit God’s people and will change their lives by empowering them and giving them more dignity as people created in God’s image.
Integrity and accountability
We seek to act with integrity, openness, honesty and accountability in all we do. We recognize that the financial and material resources with which we work are not our own, but have been entrusted to us for use in alleviating the suffering of others. We commit to managing resources that God will bring to us to the maximum benefit of those we serve.
We proclaim the value of collaboration and working together in God’s Kingdom. We commit to promoting unity, equality, participation, cooperation, interdependence, growth and integration among all people and groups. Our primary partners are local churches whom we can serve as they also serve the community. We are also partners with our donors and supporters, other para-church organizations, as well as theological institutions which share a common commitment to promoting holistic change in the African community.
“My husband was always abusive, challenging me to contribute in meeting the family’s expenses. My husband accused me of laziness though a job was not easily coming and whenever casual work was available, the pay was meagre. As young as I was and pregnant, things became hard but still I trusted God to provide. By the time I gave birth to my first baby, I was still living in a difficult situation. Our pastor shared with Mama Salome about empowering the needy women not only from our church but also from the neighborhood. When she met us, she listened to our stories and asked each of us what we wanted to do in order to generate income. I and some other women said we would wish to train in tailoring. That is how we were enrolled in a sewing school and when we completed the training, TLAfrica gifted each of us a sewing machine. When I took it home my husband was elated and proud of my progress. I began sewing and gradually, I now have many clients bringing me fabrics to make outfits for them. I am now a happy wife and a mother of two enjoying and praising God for His provision. I am no longer ‘a thing’ as my husband regarded me, I am someone, his hardworking wife. I have regained my dignity. In addition to making outfits for my clients, I make some for my husband and children too. I am grateful to TLAfrica for their support that has transformed my life and that of my family. I pray that God may bless all those who contributed to changing my life. ” Mahoro, beneficiary of the Buhaza Sewing Project ... See MoreSee Less
